This Black Sea Glass Octopus features a perfectly frosted black sea glass gem handpicked by me along the beautiful Amalfi Coast of Italy.  It is handcrafted in fine silver (999) and measures approximately 1.5 inches wide by 2 inches long.  It hangs from an adjustable 16, 18, 20-inch sterling chain.  According to experts at Beachcombing Magazine, "black is one of the oldest glass bottle colors, used by early Romans thoroughout their empire.  Black glass from this period is actually a very dark olive green or olive amber, and was usually  made by adding iron oxide during the manufacturing process."
