This Seafoam piece was fabulously frosted and smoothed by the strong currents, icy waters and powerful storms of the Bering Sea. It has been drilled and adorned with a fine silver bail patterned with Celtic Knots. A sterling silver flower was strung through the sea glass and bail to allow gentle movement. The pendant is approximately 1 1/2 inches long and hangs from a 19 inch leather cord. The Celtic Knot is considered to signify the three forces of life: water, fire and earth. The Bering sea glass is part of a small collection that I was fortunate to acquire from a friend and fellow artist whose beloved brother was a gold miner in Gnome, Alaska. As he dredged the Bering Sea seeking gold, sea glass was also found in a multitude of rare colors and shapes: proof that the sea is full of many treasures.
